Plas Llanmihangel

Plas Llanmihangel

Dating back to the 14th Century in places, this stunning fortified manor house in the Vale retains plenty of historical character and a wide selection of rooms and grounds in which to stage filming and photography.

Sitting in a dell with a very picturesque approach framed by a pond and church, there isn't much that gives away that we're in the 21st century here. Walled gardens with orchards, ancient wells and a boundary wall are all also recognised by Cadw as having historical importance, and help provide a vast array of options for filming both inside and out. Inside, you can find agas, inglenook fireplaces, stone stairs, original sword markings, grand paneled rooms, chamber pots and more! There are original features around every corner originating from across the centuries, including from the house's use as a courtroom for the county.

There aren't enough images to do this location justice - a recce is a must! Once on site you'll discover for yourself the endless staircases, hidden rooms, roof top view points and really get a feel for how the array of spaces could work for your production.

Llanmihangel truly is the perfect setting for sprawling historical productions, with enthusiastic and accommodating owners and with room to service crew too. There is access via the front vehicle and side pedestrian gates, with additional access arrangements through the rear gateway coming from the neighbouring farmer. At the base of the driveway sites a large flat area with a good amount of hardstanding already in place, and more planned to accommodate larger vehicles.

The neighbouring church pairs perfectly and is a charming accompaniment for filming scenes, with the appropriate permissions from CiW.
