Frequently Asked Questions
How do I submit my property as a filming location?
Simple! Head to our 'Location Owners' page (under the Locations tab on the Menu) and complete the form. We'll then get in touch to talk about taking pictures, how filming might work and what kind of fee you could expect to make from productions. Got something a little bit 'out of the box' up your sleeve? Simple drop us an email instead.
How do I get on the Suppliers list?
Drop us an email hello@greenshootscymru.co.uk to explain a bit about your business and what services you might offer to the Screen Industry. We're looking for Welsh businesses that would form part of greater community-support for productions in the area. In the process, hopefully spread the financial benefits from the Screen Industry ever wider across our region.
How will Green Shoots Cymru work towards a more sustainable Screen Industry?
LOCAL - SCALED DOWN - REALISTIC - REPEATABLE - JUST
Reduce travel of productions, with clusters of locations supported by local suppliers and community resources.
Spread the financial and social benefits of filming to more communities across Wales, and ensure no one area is getting hit too hard with film crews.
Empowering, assisting and informing productions of ALL sizes, to give crew practical and realistic ways to help reduce waste, emissions and environmental impact.
Promote Wales as a filming destination, and help build the industry into one that will sustain our creative community for many years to come.
What kind of locations are you looking for?
Properties, land & spaces that could be made available for filming (TV, Film, Commercials). These could be houses, vacant offices, farms, arts venues, outdoor spaces, civic-style buildings, educational buildings and so much more. There truly is a demand for anything and everything when it comes to filming!
How does the money side of things work for us as productions?
We are transparent and upfront about our costs. Location fees are agreed between owners, ourselves and productions taking into account budgets/useage etc, a 10% fee is added on top for Green Shoots Cymru commission. There is also an admin charge of £250 per location which covers paperwork, 1 initial Directors Recce and 1 x Tech Recce visit. If more visits are needed these are charged at £35/hour (including travel for our team from Cardiff).
*There may be additional charges if a Location requires one of our team to remain on site for the duration of prep/strike & filming - but this is on a case by case basis and to be discussed with owners/your Location Dept.
