Opened in 1935, this location is a great example of a classic early 20th century community hall in the valleys.

The red-brick exterior and entrance porch are distinct with their red accents on the paintwork. The entrance foyer has a kitchen, lift to the lower floor and a small but interesting staircase to the lower level. The main hall is bright, with great period details like the wood flooring and cast iron radiators and a stage with backstage area.

Downstairs is yet another hall - this one you can just about see where the old snooker tables used to sit in this lower-ceilinged space with noticeably darker wooden floor. It is a great contrast to the hall above and with doors that lead straight out to the car park/rear lane this location gives you two hall styles for the price of one. There are two smaller ante-rooms, a mildly creepy basement area and various toilets scattered throughout the property.

We love the subtle period features including serving hatches, brass door handles and terrazzo stone stairwells.

We've seen this successfully used for period pieces and short films where the facilities make a great base for small productions.
